I am a senological surgeon with over 20 years of experience and more than 2,600 senological procedures performed as the first operator, acquired in a multidisciplinary university context.
In my work, I put the person at the center, before the illness. I believe that taking charge of a patient means accompanying them through every phase of the journey: from the diagnosis to the therapeutic choice, from the intervention to the follow-up, with listening, clarity, and attention to their needs and expectations.
My experience includes over 480 mastectomies, 700 conservative breast procedures, over 700 sentinel lymph node biopsies, and numerous axillary surgery procedures, as well as a solid experience in oncological, oncoplastic, nipple-sparing, and skin-sparing mastectomy surgery.
I strongly believe in multidisciplinary care: every patient should be able to benefit from the collaboration between a mammologist, radiologist, oncologist, radiotherapist, anatomopathologist, plastic surgeon and all the other professionals involved in the treatment process. Since 2018 I have coordinated the PDTA for the breast at the AOU Sant'Andrea – Sapienza University of Rome, an experience that has allowed me to develop a comprehensive and integrated vision of care.
When surgical intervention is indicated, my goal is not only to cure the disease, but to achieve the best possible result in terms of both functional and aesthetic outcomes. I consider the aesthetics of the breast to be an integral part of the quality of care, especially when it is possible to combine oncological radicality with the preservation of the body image and oncoplastic and reconstructive techniques.
I pay particular attention to the customization of the procedure, evaluating together with the patient the most appropriate solution in relation to the disease, anatomical characteristics, reconstructive possibilities, and the patient's expectations.
My experience also includes techniques of radioguided and minimally invasive surgery, including ROLL, SNOLL, Magseed®, intraoperative ultrasound, as well as significant experience in laparoscopic surgery.
I believe in surgery based on competence, innovation, technical precision and humanity, in which the patient is not simply a recipient of treatment but an active participant in decisions concerning their own health.
My goal is to offer every woman the best oncological care possible, with the utmost respect for her person, her femininity, and her quality of life.
