Founded in 1969 and managed by the Institute of the Religious Sisters of Saint Joseph of Girona, Casa di Cura Pio XI originates from a history rooted in the work of Maria Gay Tibau, founder of the congregation in 1870. Since then, brotherhood, solidarity, and hope have guided the commitment of the Sisters in the world, according to the principle: “Alleviate pain and sow peace”.

Today, the Nursing Home is part of the prestigious international network IRSGJ, present in 13 Countries, and represents a comprehensive healthcare reality where professionalism, innovation, and personal care meet.

From a small insight born in a village in Spain to a great social work that reaches the ends of the earth, the order of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Girona represents a global presence that transforms care into a universal language of closeness and human dignity.

For us, medicine and healthcare do not stop within the walls of our facility. We strongly believe in concrete solidarity: for this reason, we actively participate by allocating a portion of the proceeds from our daily activities to the promotion and financial support of humanitarian missions managed by the congregation in the most fragile areas of the planet.
